Mechanical Maintenance- Solar Cable

Position Summary

This position is responsibleto ensure reliable and efficient operation of all mechanical equipment and systems by executing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, thereby minimizing downtime and supporting uninterrupted production.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment such as extruders, CCV lines, RBD, RST, Armouring , conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, compressors, EOT cranes, utility equipment, etc.
• Identify, analyse, and rectify mechanical breakdowns to minimize production loss.
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare and update maintenance records, checklists, machine history, and spare parts consumption.
• Coordinate with production and planning teams to ensure optimum machine availability.
• Ensure timely availability of critical spares, identify fast-moving spares, and support inventory control.
• Supervise and guide technicians and contractors during maintenance activities and shutdowns.
• Participate in shutdown planning, execution, and post-shutdown review.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, and statutory requirements during maintenance work.
• Support equipment modification, capacity improvement, and energy-saving initiatives.
• Maintain proper housekeeping as per 5S standards in maintenance areas.
  
  

Critical Success Factors - Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of industrial machines such as wire drawing, annealing, stranding, and extrusion
• 3 – 5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance role within a metal, cable, or wire manufacturing plant.
• Exposure in metal industry specially in Conductor production
