Job Title: CAD Engineer

Job Description

This role focuses on product engineering with a strong emphasis on tolerance management and stackup analysis. The CAD Engineer uses Siemens NX and related tools to develop precise 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings, ensuring robust and manufacturable designs. The position also involves applying specialized tolerance analysis tools and working within engineering data management platforms to support high-quality product development.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed tolerance management and stackup analysis to ensure product designs meet functional and manufacturing requirements.
• Create, modify, and maintain 3D models using Siemens NX, ensuring designs are accurate, manufacturable, and aligned with engineering standards.
• Develop and update assembly models in Siemens NX, including complex assemblies and subassemblies, to support product engineering activities.
• Produce clear and accurate 2D drawings in Siemens NX, including dimensions, tolerances, and annotations required for manufacturing and inspection.
• Use 3DCS or similar tools to perform advanced tolerance analysis and simulate the impact of dimensional variations on product performance.
• Apply product engineering principles to optimize designs for functionality, quality, and ease of manufacturing.
• Work within Smaragd Engineering Client and 4D Workspace (or similar engineering platforms) to manage design data, configurations, and revisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to review designs, resolve tolerance-related issues, and implement design improvements.
• Document analysis results, design decisions, and tolerance studies to support design reviews and project documentation.
• Ensure all CAD models, assemblies, and drawings comply with internal standards, industry practices, and project requirements.
  
  

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated experience in tolerance management and stackup analysis for product engineering applications.
• Strong proficiency in Siemens NX for 3D modeling, including the creation and modification of detailed part models.
• Strong proficiency in Siemens NX for assembly modeling, including handling complex assemblies and subassemblies.
• Strong proficiency in Siemens NX for 2D drafting, including dimensioning, tolerancing, and creating manufacturing-ready drawings.
• Hands-on experience using 3DCS or similar tools for tolerance analysis.
• Practical knowledge of product engineering, including understanding of how tolerances affect function, manufacturability, and quality.
• Ability to work with Smaragd Engineering Client and 4D Workspace or similar engineering data management environments.

• Background in product engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Familiarity with engineering data management systems and digital engineering workspaces.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tolerance and stackup analysis.
