Job Description:
We are seeking a technically strong and quality-driven Lead Verification Engineer to lead the test strategy and execution for embedded automation platforms in Surface Drilling systems. You will be responsible for designing and implementing automated test frameworks, validating real-time control systems, and ensuring seamless integration across hardware-software interfaces.
This role is central to Epiroc's automation roadmap, supporting the development of brand-agnostic, interoperable platforms that enable autonomous operations across global mining fleets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead verification strategy for embedded control systems in Surface Drilling projects.
- Develop automated test frameworks using Python, Robot Framework, and Pytest.
- Drive system-level validation for real-time, safety-critical applications.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure testability, RTM traceability, and product quality.
- Lead defect management, continuous improvement, and own key verification artifacts.
- Mentor engineers and promote best practices in test automation and quality.
- Drive AI-assisted verification to validate autonomous and intelligent control functions.
- Define and report verification metrics such as pass rate, test coverage, and defect trends.
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, or Computer Science.
- 8-12 years of experience in software verification and automation for embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience in HiL, FAT, and SAT across lab, factory, and site environments.
- Proficient in Python, Robot Framework, Selenium, and test automation libraries.
- Experience in system validation for real-time or industrial control systems.
- Strong understanding of communication protocols: CAN, UDS, J1939, LIN, Ethernet.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing, Jira, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, ALM traceability.
- Strong system knowledge with the ability to derive and interpret system requirements.
- Knowledge of machine electrification and autonomous machine systems.
- Good programming skills in Python and CAPL, with basic knowledge of C and C++.
- Experience in mining, construction, or automotive control systems.
- ISTQB Test Certifications & Agile certifications (Scrum Master, Product Owner).
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR, ADAS, sensor fusion, computer vision, OTA, and SDV.
- Exposure to functional safety and cybersecurity (e.g., ISO 26262, CRA).
- International work experience with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
- Exposure to Agentic AI-based test automation and traceability.
- Familiarity with simulation-driven validation, virtual test environments, and digital twins.
- Self-driven with a strong curiosity to learn and explore new ideas.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
