Role Overview

The Lead - Product Development (Apparel) will lead the end-to-end product creation process — from concept and silhouette research to fabric selection, sampling, fit analysis and product improvements. This role requires a balance of creativity, technical expertise, and commercial acumen, ensuring that every product developed — in both knit and woven — is in line with brand aesthetics, customer needs, and market viability.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

• Lead full-cycle product development across knitwear and woven categories, from concept ideation to final production readiness.
• Conduct market and trend research to identify consumer preferences, new silhouettes, and design opportunities aligned with SAADAA’s brand ethos.
• Evaluate fabrics, yarns, trims, and finishes—ensuring quality, functionality, and sustainability compliance
• Develop accurate CAD sketches, tech packs, and patterns (digital and paper-based) for sampling and production execution.
• Oversee sampling, fittings, and revisions, ensuring technical precision, pattern corrections, and consistent quality standards.
• Conduct vendor and mill visits to track development progress, resolve technical challenges, and ensure on-time delivery for the launch.
• Manage product costing and efficiency, balancing design aspirations with margin targets and material optimization.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, sourcing, and production teams for smooth product transitions and launches.
• Mentor junior team members, fostering technical learning, innovation, and effective problem-solving.
  
  

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fashion Technology, Textile Design, Knitwear Design, or a related field.
• 6–9 years of experience in product development within a fashion brand, across both knits and woven.
• Strong technical understanding of garment construction, garment manufacturing, pattern development, fit analysis and finishing techniques.
• Proficiency in CAD design tools, tech pack creation, and garment construction.
• Hands-on experience in quality checks, lab testing, and on-ground vendor coordination.
• Strong grasp of costing principles and the ability to maintain commercial viability without compromising quality.
• Excellent project management, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple product lines simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work seamlessly across teams.
