Job Summary
The Shift Manager is responsible for managing end-to-end café operations during assigned shifts at the airport outlet. This role ensures smooth service delivery, team supervision, quality compliance, and adherence to airport security and operational protocols while maintaining high standards of customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Operations
Manage complete café operations during assigned shifts.
Ensure timely opening and closing of the café as per airport schedules.
Monitor service flow during peak airport hours and manage queues efficiently.
Team Management
Supervise and guide café staff on shift.
Allocate duties, manage breaks, and ensure optimal staffing.
Motivate the team to meet service, quality, and sales targets.
Customer Experience
Ensure prompt, courteous, and professional customer service.
Handle customer queries and escalations effectively.
Maintain brand standards in service, product quality, and cleanliness.
Food, Beverage & Quality Control
Ensure all food and beverage items are prepared as per SOPs.
Monitor hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards.
Conduct regular checks on product quality and presentation.
Inventory & Cash Handling
Monitor stock usage and coordinate replenishment.
Ensure FIFO practices and minimize wastage.
Handle cash, billing accuracy, and shift-level sales reconciliation.
Compliance & Airport Protocols
Ensure adherence to airport security, safety, and access guidelines.
Maintain discipline, grooming standards, and ID compliance.
Coordinate with airport authorities when required.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain shift reports, sales summaries, and incident logs.
Report operational issues, manpower gaps, or maintenance needs promptly.
Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and people management skills.
Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced airport environments.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Basic understanding of POS systems, cash handling, and inventory.
Customer-focused and detail-oriented approach.
Education & Experience
Minimum qualification: Graduate / 12th pass (preferred).
3-6 years of experience in QSR, café, or food service operations.
Prior experience in airport, mall, or high-footfall locations is an advantage.
Experience in handling shifts independently is mandatory.
Work Requirements
Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to stand for long hours.
Comfortable working under airport security and compliance norms.
