Job Overview

The objective of the proposed Kerala Solid Waste Management Project (KSWMP) is to strengthen the institutional and service delivery systems for SWM in Kerala. KSWMP aims to adopt a sector-wide integrated value chain approach for enhancing the service delivery.

Position Overview:

• Should have about 10 years' experience in advising and providing technical support to the urban local bodies or Urban Infra structure projects of State/Central Government and about 5 years of substantial experience in planning and designing SWM policies and projects in India.

• Knowledge of the principles and practices of the operation and maintenance of solid waste management systems and of the related state and national regulations is essential.

• The experience of leading at multidisciplinary team in IDA (multilateral/bilateral) financed infrastructure projects is essential.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communications, interpersonal and project management skills is essential for this position.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil/ Mechanical/ Chemical). Master’s degree in civil/ mechanical/ chemical engineering/ environmental engineering/ environmental sciences or other relevant fields is preferred with experience in urban infrastructure/ SWM investment project and strong background in municipal solid waste management or Urban Development Economist with experience in SWM investment project and strong background in municipal solid waste management.

Or

Master's degree in subject relevant to urban finance/economics with good academic background. Should have about 10 years' experience in a senior position in the capacity of Urban Development Economist and/or Urban Services Manager in urban local body in India and must have a strong background in municipal solid waste management. Should have been responsible for development of urban infrastructure/ SWM investment projects
