Mechanical Design Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Polyqurl Technologies is looking for a creative and detail-oriented SolidWorks Design Engineer to work on robotics, industrial products, automation systems, consumer products, and engineering development projects. The ideal candidate should have strong 3D CAD modeling skills, practical engineering understanding, and the ability to convert concepts into production-ready designs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
• Design mechanical components and systems for robotics and industrial applications
• Develop production-ready CAD designs considering manufacturability and assembly
• Generate detailed 2D drawings with GD&T and fabrication details
• Collaborate with electronics, embedded, and software teams for product integration
• Perform design modifications and engineering improvements based on testing feedback
• Work on sheet metal, plastic, machined, and fabricated component designs
• Prepare rendering images and technical presentations when required
• Participate in prototype development and engineering R&D activities

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks
• Good understanding of mechanical design fundamentals
• Experience creating 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, fabrication, and 3D printing
• Understanding of tolerances, fits, and GD&T basics
• Ability to create production-oriented and manufacturable designs
• Strong problem-solving and design-thinking capability
• Attention to detail and engineering accuracy
• Ability to work in a collaborative startup environment

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience in robotics or automation product design
• Knowledge of FEA/simulation tools
• Experience with rendering and product visualization
• Understanding of injection molding and plastic product design
• Familiarity with BOM generation and product documentation
• Experience with prototype development and testing
• Knowledge of motors, gear systems, bearings, and mechanical motion systems
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or other CAD software
• Interest in robotics, product innovation, and engineering R&D
