Key Responsibilities

  • Create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for stone fabrication projects using Rhino, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
  • Develop production-ready shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings.
  • Prepare CNC-ready files and optimize designs for manufacturing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, project managers, and production teams to ensure design feasibility.
  • Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Design custom stone products, including countertops, wall cladding, flooring, staircases, facades, monuments, sculptures, and bespoke architectural elements.
  • Perform design modifications based on client feedback and production requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, dimensional tolerances, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with procurement and production teams regarding material utilization and fabrication methods.
  • Maintain project documentation, revision history, and drawing standards.
  • Support installation teams by providing technical clarifications when required.
  • Continuously improve design processes and introduce innovative solutions to enhance productivity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3–7 years of experience in design engineering, preferably within the stone, marble, granite, quartz, or architectural stone industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in:
  • Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D)
  • SolidWorks
  • AutoCAD
  • Strong knowledge of stone fabrication processes and CNC machining.
  • Experience preparing shop drawings, cutting lists, nesting layouts, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and production workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with parametric modeling and complex surface design.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC programming.
  • Experience with laser scanning, 3D modeling, or digital fabrication workflows.
  • Familiarity with ERP or project management systems.
  • Experience working on luxury residential, hospitality, commercial, or large-scale architectural stone projects.
