Prior experience in insurance medicine is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate the ability, or willingness to develop expertise, in:
- MBBS from a recognized medical college.
- Minimum 5 years of post-MBBS clinical experience preferred.
- Senior physicians and specialists with 15+ years of clinical practice experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Clinical experience in one or more of the following specialties is preferred:
- Internal Medicine
- Critical Care / ICU
- Emergency Medicine
- Cardiology
- Pulmonology
- Oncology
- Nephrology
- Neurology
- Endocrinology
- General Medicine
- Family Medicine with significant exposure to complex medical cases
Candidates should possess strong expertise in evaluating and managing conditions such as:
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Diabetes and metabolic disorders
- Renal disorders
- Neurological diseases
- Respiratory illnesses
- Cancer and hematological disorders
- Liver diseases
- Autoimmune conditions
- Infectious diseases
- Chronic multisystem illnesses
- Terminal illnesses
- ICU and critical care cases
- Complex surgical histories
- Organ dysfunction and long-term complications
Candidates should be proficient in reviewing and interpreting:
- Electrocardiograms (ECG), including ischemic changes, arrhythmias, conduction abnormalities, and chamber enlargement
- Echocardiography reports
- Stress Tests (TMT)
- Cardiac catheterization and angiography reports
- CT and MRI reports
- Chest imaging studies
- Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs)
- Pathology and histopathology reports
- Laboratory investigations
- Hospital discharge summaries
- ICU records
- Specialist consultation notes
Prior experience in insurance medicine is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate the ability, or willingness to develop expertise, in:
- Reviewing Attending Physician Statements (APS)
- Preparing medical summaries and risk assessments
- Identifying mortality and morbidity risk factors
- Assessing disease severity and long-term prognosis
- Evaluating functional capacity and occupational impact
- Relating medical findings to insurability considerations
- Supporting evidence-based underwriting decisions
- Providing independent medical opinions for risk selection
- Assisting with medical reviews for life insurance claims
- Strong clinical judgment and reasoning skills
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking capabilities
- High attention to detail
- Ability to synthesize complex medical information
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- Ability to make objective, evidence-based decisions
- Adaptability and willingness to learn Insurance Medicine concepts
- This role is based out of the Hyderabad office and follows a hybrid working model.
- Work schedules and shift timings will be aligned with the reporting Medical Director and Mass Mutual US stakeholders, based on business requirements.
