Factory Medical Officer
Job Description
The FMO is responsible for leading and managing all occupational health, clinical care, industrial hygiene, and employee wellness activities at the site by providing medical treatment, occupational illness and injury management, fitness-for-duty assessments, return-to-work evaluations, health surveillance, disability and case management services, while maintaining confidential medical records and ensuring compliance with Piramal Global EHS Standards and applicable local regulations. The role includes identifying workplace health hazards, evaluating occupational exposures, participating in industrial hygiene programs such as TEBA, hearing conservation, ergonomics, and exposure monitoring, conducting workplace inspections and FMO rounds, implementing preventive health and vaccination programs, administering pre-employment and periodic medical examinations, coordinating pathology testing, managing high-risk employee health surveillance, preparing health trend analyses, and promoting employee well-being through health awareness initiatives. Additionally, the position is accountable for the effective management of the Occupational Health Centre (OHC), including supervision of pharmacists and support staff, maintenance and calibration of medical equipment and ambulance facilities, management of medicines and vaccines, biomedical waste compliance, emergency preparedness, pandemic business continuity planning, audit readiness, statutory reporting, stakeholder engagement, and implementation of Occupational Health (OH) and Industrial Hygiene (IH) systems to foster a healthy, safe, and compliant work environment while continuously enhancing occupational health performance across the organization.
