Sales Specialist
Job Title: Project Sales Executive / Project Manager
Role Overview
We are a specialized manufacturer of construction chemicals and solutions looking for a driven Project Sales Executive. This is a field-intensive role where you will spend most of your time at ongoing construction project sites, building relationships with site teams and ensuring our products are specified, approved, and used on-site. Success in this role is measured by product approvals converted into repeat orders.
Key Responsibilities
Site-Level Business Development
- Identify and map ongoing and upcoming construction projects (residential, commercial, infrastructure, and industrial) in the assigned territory.
- Conduct regular site visits to pitch the company's product range to Site Engineers, QA/QC teams, Project Managers, Purchase Managers, and Contractors.
- Understand site-specific requirements related to waterproofing, concrete repair, admixtures, bonding, grouting, and recommend suitable solutions from the company's product portfolio.
Product Approvals & Specifications
- Drive the complete product approval cycle from product presentation, sample submission, site trials/mock-ups, technical approval, and inclusion in the approved makes list.
- Coordinate product demonstrations and trial applications with site teams while ensuring proper application during trials.
- Work with Structural Consultants, Architects, and PMC teams to get products specified during the design and tender stage wherever possible.
Order Conversion & Account Management
- Convert product approvals into purchase orders through regular follow-ups with procurement and purchase teams.
- Track project progress stage-wise to align product requirements with construction milestones.
- Ensure repeat orders throughout the project lifecycle and across the client's other projects.
- Coordinate with internal teams for timely dispatch, delivery, payment collection, and outstanding follow-up.
Technical & Relationship Support
- Provide basic technical guidance and application support at project sites while coordinating with the Technical Services team for complex issues.
- Handle customer complaints promptly and maintain the company's reputation at project sites.
- Build long-term relationships with Builders, Contractors, Applicators, and Consultants to generate repeat and referral business.
Reporting & Market Intelligence
- Maintain a live project pipeline tracker including project stages, decision-makers, approval status, and expected order value.
- Submit daily site visit reports and weekly progress updates against sales targets.
- Monitor competitor products, pricing, and market activities and share insights with management.
Candidate Requirements
Must-Have
- 1–3 years of project sales experience in Construction Chemicals, Waterproofing, Admixtures, or allied Building Materials (Paints, Adhesives, Cement, or RMC experience will also be considered).
- Proven track record of obtaining product approvals at project sites and converting approvals into purchase orders.
- Existing network of Site Engineers, Contractors, PMCs, or Builders within the assigned territory.
- Comfortable with extensive daily field work and construction site environments.
- Own a two-wheeler and possess a valid driving licence.
- Fluency in the local language along with working knowledge of English and Hindi.
Preferred
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering, or B.Sc. with relevant industry experience.
- Working knowledge of construction stages and the application of different construction chemical products.
- Familiarity with approval documentation, including technical datasheets, test certificates, and method statements.
