The Sales Support & Customer Account Specialist supports the growth and management of Direct Original Equipment Manufacturer (DOEM) accounts by building strong customer relationships, coordinating cross-functional activities, managing sales operations, and ensuring timely commercial and operational support. This role is responsible for supporting business development initiatives, spare parts sales, forecasting, account receivables, and customer issue resolution while executing the Cummins Sales Process to drive customer satisfaction and sustainable business growth across assigned market segments.

This role is responsible for supporting business development initiatives, spare parts sales, forecasting, account receivables, and customer issue resolution while executing the Cummins Sales Process to drive customer satisfaction and sustainable business growth across assigned market segments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of account strategies to strengthen customer relationships and grow business across assigned DOEM accounts and market segments.
- Drive business growth within assigned segments, including Pumps, Agriculture, Marine, Industrial, and Automotive applications.
- Support the implementation of customer capability initiatives, including Self-Support Models for DOEM customers.
- Generate, process, and coordinate spare parts orders, ensuring timely execution and delivery to customers.
- Manage spare parts order fulfillment for Agriculture, Marine, Pump, Industrial, and Automotive DOEM customers.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to engine supply, spare parts, service support, pricing, and commercial requests.
- Coordinate with Application Engineering and other cross-functional teams to provide technical and commercial solutions for new customer enquiries.
- Support business development activities by identifying new opportunities, conducting initial customer engagement, coordinating cold-calling activities, supporting Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) completion, and facilitating smooth handover to Key Account Managers.
- Coordinate customer visits, meetings, negotiations, and communication between customers and internal stakeholders.
- Act as the voice of the customer by communicating customer feedback and requirements across internal teams to improve customer experience.
- Maintain customer Account Receivable (AR) records, coordinate collections, and support payment follow-up activities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain customer reports, sales forecasts, order boards, Sales Business Plans (SBP), forecast files, opportunity trackers, and business performance reports.
- Maintain pricing repositories including engine transfer pricing, spare parts pricing circulars, and commercial documentation to support timely customer quotations.
- Support contract implementation, commercial negotiations, and pricing strategies in collaboration with the account management team.
- Monitor sales pipeline health, forecast accuracy, revenue opportunities, and account performance using Cummins sales tools and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Service, Pricing, and other internal functions to balance customer expectations with inventory, delivery, and operational capabilities.
- Execute the Cummins Sales Process while ensuring compliance with company policies, quality standards, and customer commitments.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may also be considered.
- Ability to obtain licenses required for export control or regulatory compliance, where applicable.
- Knowledge of account management, customer relationship management, and sales support processes.
- Understanding of OEM/DOEM business operations, industrial products, and aftermarket support.
- Strong commercial acumen with knowledge of pricing strategies, sales forecasting, and business planning.
- Ability to coordinate multiple cross-functional stakeholders and manage customer requirements effectively.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent relationship-building skills.
- Effective communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze customer requirements and recommend appropriate technical and commercial solutions.
- Proficiency in sales forecasting, pipeline management, opportunity tracking, and business reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint, along with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Ability to manage account receivables, commercial documentation, and pricing information.
- Results-oriented mindset with strong execution and follow-through capabilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Basic to intermediate experience in sales support, customer account management, business development, inside sales, or commercial operations.
- Customer-facing experience in industrial, automotive, manufacturing, engineering, or OEM environments is preferred.
- Experience supporting account management, sales coordination, forecasting, order management, or commercial operations.
- Exposure to spare parts management, aftermarket support, or customer service processes is advantageous.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Service, and Operations.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, sales reporting tools, forecasting processes, and commercial documentation is preferred.
