Deputy General Manager - Employee RelationsTo implement organization’s employee relations (ER) strategy to ensure a harmonious and productive workplace for all group of employees. This role is responsible for conducting HR / ER investigations, collaborating with key stakeholders for DAP (disciplinary action plan) compliance, coaching & capability building of business / line leaders on ER processes, fostering a culture of high engagement and ethical conduct, acting as a subject matter expert in matters related to labour and employment, new labour codes, maintaining 100% statutory compliance across manufacturing units and office locations across India & working with trade unions.
KEY STAKEHOLDERS: INTERNAL - Business / Division HR Leads, Plant HR Leads, HR Operation Lead, Legal Head, Function Heads.
KEY STAKEHOLDERS: EXTERNAL - External Legal Counsel & Advocates, Trade Unions, Industry Associations, Statutory Authorities, local authorities.
Reports to Head of Employee Relations & GEEC India PPL, Direct Reports – No
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: MBA in Human Resources / MSW.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION – LLB / Certification in employee relations or HR investigations.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 12–15+ years in HR/ER, with at least 3–5 years in employee relations role within manufacturing environment.

Role And Responsibilities
- Grievance / Discipline Management: Handle employee grievances, lead / coordinate HR related investigations, drafting of report, aligning the key stakeholders and helping line managers to close the disciplinary action plan.
- Policy Development: Design, implement & interpret ER strategies, systems, policies and procedures that support long-term business growth and strategic goals of PPL India.
- Standardization of employment documents: Collaborate and work very closely with HR operations to standardize the employment life cycle documents for all employees at factories / offices across India.
- ER Dashboard Management: Use ER metrics and dashboards to provide decision support to senior management regarding cases, compliance, and employee costs.
- Statutory Audits: Plan and conduct internal audits at manufacturing / non-manufacturing sites / offices across India for action planning and compliance.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert on matter related to employee relations for BHR’s , HR operations and business leaders.
- Coaching & Capability Building: Build ER capability of BHR’s, business leaders and line manager on ER processes and new labor codes & compliances.
- Legal Coordination: Regularly review ongoing legal cases and proactively coordinate with legal counsel for matters related to labor office, PF, ESIC, labour welfare fund, inspections etc.
- Manage the central grievance reporting portal at PPL global level case management, reporting & insights action planning.

- Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen: Understanding the broader healthcare marketplace and aligning ER strategies with the company's financial and growth goals.
- Effective communicator: Proficient in communication and should be able to present / explain / articulate ER/HR related matters to key stakeholders.
- Expertise in Labour legislations / Statutory Compliance: Should be able to understand, interpret, explain & resolve complex matters related to labour codes, shop and establishment act & case laws.
- Industrial Relations (IR) Strategy: Proven ability to manage collective bargaining and maintain cordial relations with internal/external trade unions to ensure zero production loss.
