- Configure, and maintain JIRA projects, issue types, screens, workflows, schemes, permissions, and notification settings.
- Create and manage project templates and reusable configuration standards to support consistency across teams and business units.
- Support established custom fields, field configurations, issue layouts, request forms, and automation rules to meet evolving business requirements.
- Optimize JIRA workflows to improve operational efficiency, governance, and reporting accuracy.
- Configure and support JIRA Software capabilities aligned with engineering and support team needs.
- Evaluate, implement, configure, and support Atlassian Marketplace add-ons to extend JIRA functionality.
- Partner with Tech Leads and business stakeholders to identify appropriate solutions for roadmap planning, test management, time tracking, reporting, and workflow enhancement.
- Perform add-on compatibility reviews, upgrade assessments, and impact analysis for new releases.
- Ensure add-ons are implemented in accordance with enterprise security, compliance, and support standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve JIRA configuration issues, permission problems, workflow errors, and reporting inconsistencies.
- Support platform upgrades, enhancement requests, testing, and release readiness activities.
- Document system configurations, standards, and implementation procedures to ensure supportability and operational continuity.
- Maintain alignment with change management, security, governance, and service support processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, PMO, service delivery, operations, and enterprise application teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–8+ years of experience working with Atlassian JIRA administration and configuration
- Proven experience with JIRA project configuration, template configuration, custom fields, workflow customization, permissions and schemes, dashboard and analytics/report creation, and Atlassian add-on / plugin implementation.
- Hands-on experience supporting Agile/Scrum and Kanban projects
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and release processes.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with JIRA automation, scripting, or advanced configuration tools such as:
- ScriptRunner
- Automation for Jira
- JMWE / JMCF
- Zephyr
- Experience with Microsoft 365 SharePoint, Power Platform and Copilot integrations
- Experience with REST APIs, integrations, and data extraction for reporting purposes.
- Exposure to enterprise governance, access control, audit, and change management practices.
- Atlassian certifications are a plus.
- Experience with Atlassian Rovo, and Microsoft Copilot AI platforms, including:
- Writing effective AI prompts for enterprise use cases
- Creating and managing Rovo/Copilot agents to automate workflows and knowledge discovery
- Leveraging Rovo for contextual insights, search, and productivity enhancement across Atlassian tools
- Experience integrating Atlassian tools with Microsoft Copilot and M365 ecosystem, including:
- Connecting JIRA/Confluence data to Copilot experiences
- Supporting cross-platform workflows between Atlassian and Microsoft environments
- Understanding data governance, permissions, and security considerations for AI integrations
- Exposure to AI-driven workflow automation, knowledge management, or developer productivity tools.
