The role requires strong data‑warehousing expertise, advanced SQL skills (PostgreSQL or Teradata), solid Python programming ability and basic Tableau reporting knowledge. You will translate business requirements into scalable pipelines, data models and self‑service analytics while upholding BNP Paribas data‑quality, governance and performance standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain Dataiku pipelines, recipes and flows to ingest, transform and expose data from source systems (PostgreSQL, Teradata, flat files, etc.) into the enterprise data warehouse / lake.
  • Apply data‑warehousing concepts such as dimensional modelling, slowly‑changing dimensions, star/snowflake schemas and data‑vault techniques to support analytical reporting and BI consumption.
  • Develop reusable Python code (Pandas, PySpark, SQLAlchemy) inside Dataiku plugins, recipes and notebooks for data cleansing, enrichment and advanced analytics.
  • Define and implement data‑quality rules, unit tests and automated validation checks within Dataiku.
  • Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to convert functional requirements into technical specifications, functional designs and implementation plans.
  • Document technical and functional artefacts (design specifications, data dictionaries, run‑books) and contribute to the tribe’s knowledge base.
  • Set up CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) for Dataiku projects to automate testing, versioning and deployment across development, test and production environments.
  • Monitor and optimise pipeline performance, storage utilisation (Parquet/ORC) and cloud‑infrastructure cost (Kubernetes Engine, IBM Cloud).
  • Provide 2nd‑level support for production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
  • Mentor junior team members and champion best practices in data engineering and Dataiku usage.
  • Actively participate in squad ceremonies (stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and adhere to Group standards for coding, security, data‑governance and CI/CD.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and share insights on Dataiku, data‑warehouse trends and emerging technologies.

Required Education, Skills, AND Experience (MUST‑HAVE)

  • Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
  • 6–8 years of hands‑on experience delivering data‑warehousing solutions with Dataiku DSS.
  • Strong SQL programming skills; experience writing complex queries, stored procedures and functions in PostgreSQL and/or Teradata.
  • Proficient in Python (OOP, reusable utilities, exception handling, debugging, clean‑code practices) and experienced in using Python within Dataiku recipes, plugins and notebooks.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement dimensional modelling, SCD handling, star/snowflake or data‑vault schemas.
  • Experience building and orchestrating Dataiku projects, recipes, plugins and APIs.
  • Familiarity with version‑control and CI/CD tools (GitLab or equivalent) for automated builds and deployments.
  • Knowledge of containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for scalable execution.
  • Understanding of columnar storage formats (Parquet, ORC) and cloud storage concepts.
  • Proficient with ALM/QC, JIRA, Confluence and SharePoint for tracking and documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in an Agile, cross‑functional team, including collaboration with French‑Indian extended squads.

Preferred Education, Skills, AND Experience (NICE‑TO‑HAVE)

  • Experience with Apache Airflow for orchestrating Dataiku pipelines.
  • Exposure to data‑visualisation tools such as Tableau (or similar).
  • Familiarity with streaming and search technologies (Kafka, Elasticsearch, Kibana).
  • Prior work on banking or financial‑services data domains.
  • Knowledge of additional cloud platforms (e.g., IBM Cloud Object Storage) and cost‑optimisation techniques.
  • Certifications related to Dataiku, cloud engineering or data‑warehousing.
  • Experience with additional programming languages (e.g., Java, Scala).
