Site Migration

We are looking for an experienced Site Migration Engineer to plan, coordinate, and execute site migration activities, including infrastructure migration, hardware configuration, application/server movement, network setup, and post-migration validation. The candidate should have strong experience in data center/site migration and infrastructure support.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and execute site migration and data center migration activities.

Assess existing infrastructure, hardware, applications, network, and dependencies before migration.

Prepare detailed migration plans, timelines, checklists, and rollback procedures.

Coordinate server, storage, network, security, and application teams during migration.

Perform hardware installation, configuration, rack-and-stack, cabling, and connectivity setup.

Configure and validate servers, switches, storage devices, and related infrastructure.

Coordinate server/application movement from the existing site to the target site.

Perform IP configuration, DNS, DHCP, firewall, routing, and connectivity validation.

Execute application and infrastructure cutover activities within agreed maintenance windows.

Conduct pre-migration and post-migration health checks.

Troubleshoot hardware, network, application, and connectivity issues during migration.

Perform data validation and ensure applications/services are functioning correctly after migration.

Maintain migration documentation, asset inventories, configuration details, and status reports.

Coordinate with vendors, business users, and internal infrastructure teams.

Support rollback activities in case of migration failure.

Provide post-migration support and resolve issues until stabilization.

Required Skills

Strong experience in Site Migration / Data Center Migration.

Hands-on experience with server and hardware configuration.

Good knowledge of Windows/Linux servers.

Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, routing, and firewalls.

Experience with server installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of storage, backup, and virtualization technologies.

Experience with infrastructure migration planning and execution.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Good understanding of ITIL processes, change management, and incident management.

Strong coordination and communication skills.

Good to Have

Experience with VMware/Hyper-V.

Knowledge of cloud migration such as AWS/Azure.

Experience with SAN/NAS and storage migration.

Knowledge of network switches, routers, and load balancers.

Experience with data center relocation and infrastructure refresh projects.

Knowledge of automation and scripting using PowerShell or Shell.

Relevant certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, RHCE, VMware, or ITIL.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
