Event Moderator — Guardian African Youth Assembly

Guardian of Childhood is a youth-led nonprofit working to advance children's rights and create safer environments where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.

About The Role

Guardian of Childhood is looking for a confident, responsible, and engaging Event Moderator to support the Guardian African Youth Assembly.

The selected moderator will help ensure that the assembly runs smoothly, professionally, and on time while creating a welcoming environment for speakers and participants.

Responsibilities

• Welcome participants and speakers at the beginning of the assembly
• Introduce speakers and sessions
• Manage transitions between different segments of the event
• Keep the program running according to the schedule
• Monitor participant questions and the event chat
• Coordinate with speakers during the event
• Maintain a respectful and inclusive environment
• Assist the organizing team with basic event coordination when required
  
  

Requirements

• Strong communication and public-speaking skills
• Comfortable speaking in front of an online audience
• Confident and professional communication style
• Good time management and ability to follow an event schedule
• Responsible and punctual
• Previous moderation or event experience is an advantage, but not required

Important This is a one-event volunteer opportunity specifically for the Guardian African Youth Assembly. The selected volunteer is expected to attend the required briefing before the event and be available for the full duration of the assembly.
