Assistant Vice President – Product & Technology Innovation

The AVP/GM-Engineering will be responsible for end-to-end design, development, and delivery of embedded products across hardware, firmware, software, OS customization, and platform solutions for fintech and identity management verticals. This role will drive technology strategy, product innovation, engineering excellence, and scalable delivery, while leading cross-functional technology teams.

This role is pivotal in building scalable, secure, and innovative embedded products, ensuring faster product commercialization, high-quality delivery, and competitive differentiation in fintech and identity markets. The AVP/GM-Engineering will directly impact business growth, customer satisfaction, and long-term technology leadership.Key Responsibilities

Product Engineering Development

• Lead end-to-end embedded product development lifecycle:
• Hardware design (PCB, schematics, component selection)
• Firmware development (Drivers, BSP, RTOS/Linux/Android layers)
• Software application development
• OS customization (Android/Linux-based systems)
• Ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance architecture design
  
  

Technology Strategy Innovation

• Define and drive technology roadmap aligned with business goals
• Lead innovation in:
• Embedded and edge devices (HHT, POS, payment solutions)
• Identity solutions (biometric, authentication platforms)
• Evaluate and onboard new technologies, chipsets, Solutions and platforms
  
  

Secure Systems Compliance

• Ensure implementation of:
• OTA update frameworks
• Compliance with standards (PCI, EMV, UIDAI, MOSIP, etc.)
• Drive security-first architecture across all products
  
  

Delivery Project Ownership

• Own end-to-end project delivery:
• Timelines
• Quality
• Cost
• Ensure on-time execution of multiple concurrent programs/Projects
• Drive cross-functional alignment (Product, Operations, QA, Support)
  
  

Team Leadership Capability Building

• Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams:
• Hardware
• Firmware
• Software
• SQA Validation
• Build strong engineering culture, processes, and best practices
• Drive hiring, training, and capability enhancement
  
  

Vendor Partner Management

• Manage relationships with:
• Component vendors
• Technology partners
• ODM/OEM partners
• Drive technical collaborations and co-development initiatives
  
  

Quality, Process Continuous Improvement

• Establish engineering processes:
• Design reviews
• Code quality
• Documentation standards
• Drive process standardization and continuous improvement (Kaizen)
  
  

Key Competencies

Experience

• 15+ years in embedded systems/product engineering
• Proven track record of successful deployment of multiple large-scale products
• Experience in fintech / payments / identity ecosystem preferred
  
  

Technical Expertise

• Strong experience in:
• Embedded hardware design
• Firmware (C/C++, RTOS, Linux, Android BSP)
• Application/software development
• OS customization (Android/Linux)
• Knowledge of:
• Secure boot, encryption, PKI, OTA
• Communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, TCP/IP)
  

Leadership Skills

• Strong team management and leadership capability
• Ability to drive execution under tight timelines
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Exposure on Project Management documentation
• manage a portfolio of product development projects using Agile, Scrum, or hybrid methodologies.
• Hands-on with tools like Jira, Git, MPP or debugging tools.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Design Development and deployment of embedded hardware, fintech devices and identity solutions
• Led end-to-end product development (0 → scale)
• Managed hardware + firmware + software teams
• Experience in POS, biometric devices, or authentication platforms
• Exposure to National ID, Aadhaar, or similar identity ecosystems preferred
• Strong understanding of fintech and secure transaction environments
• Ability to translate technical specifications into product implementations
