Assistant Managing Editor
Job Purpose
To proactively develop journals to deliver growth in terms of published content. To build relationships with authors and editors such that journals meet or exceed their published content targets.

Key Accountabilities
- Peer review Management up to and including recommendations
- Journal Development and marketing
- Supporting a more senior ME or an existing Publishing Editor
- EiC/board management
- Supporting a more senior ME or an existing Publishing Editor
- Scope of influence
- Mainly limited to journals of responsibility
- Ethical cases: to advise on journals of direct responsibility
- Input on wider strategic decisions but no responsibility
- Graduate in engineering or physical sciences (MSc, or BSc with appropriate peer-review experience)
- Experience in journals publishing
- Good commercial awareness
- High level communication and interpersonal skills
- Strategic awareness, including a detailed understanding of industry trends and best practice
- Excellent prioritization skills and a high level of adaptability
- Proficient in standard IT packages, including Microsoft Office
