Senior Legal Project Lead – Contract Data Extraction | Fixed Term Contract

Join Basware's Legal & Sourcing team on-site in Chandigarh, leading a 3-person contract data extraction team — yourself plus two junior legal/paralegal analysts — reporting to the Global Contract Data Lead. The team builds a clean, source-attributed dataset from Basware's customer contracts, starting with our VIP, Strategic and Key segments, using an AI-assisted extraction platform (tool selection pending). You'll set up the methodology in week one, then run daily production: extracting and QA'ing contracts, training and supporting the two analysts, resolving complex cases, correcting AI output, and partnering with our IT project lead on tooling.

– Fully fluent in English (written and spoken), including legal/commercial terminology

– Strong working knowledge of commercial contracts (SaaS agreements, MSAs, order forms, amendments, SOWs) from a legal, paralegal or contracts-management background

– Experience leading or mentoring a small team, ideally in legal ops, contracts or shared services

– Hands-on comfort with AI-assisted software tools; able to evaluate AI output critically rather than accept it at face value

– Strong working proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams)

– High attention to detail; comfortable working to a structured data schema and daily throughput targets

– Process-oriented, able to build a repeatable methodology from a blank page

– Willing to work on-site at the Chandigarh office and collaborate directly with the IT project lead

– Nice to have: prior exposure to AI-assisted contract/legal-tech platforms, experience reconciling CRM or billing/provisioning data, familiarity with SaaS commercial terms
