The Opportunity

We are looking for a seasoned engineering leader that will help drive the entire engineering operations of our platform and solution engineering teams. In charge of the entire India labs this role is a very high visibility role with accountability to the Autonomize leadership team, directly partnering with the CTO. You will be directly responsible for driving engineering excellence across product and solution delivery, quality assurance, IT and cloud operations, collaboration amongst various teams with deep humility, hunger and passion to build a world class engineering team in India.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead people, first: This is fundamentally a people leadership role. You will grow, mentor, and inspire our high-performing engineering organization — hiring exceptional talent, coaching engineers and engineering managers, and investing deeply in their growth.
• Be Accountable: As the senior-most engineering leader in Bangalore, you will operate with full accountability to Autonomize's US leadership team — reporting into the CTO and partnering closely with the CEO and executive staff on strategy, execution, and outcomes.
• Clarity of mission: You will create the conditions for engineers to do the best work of their careers: clarity of mission, autonomy in execution, high standards, and psychological safety to take risks with innovations.
• Own Engineering Delivery: Own the entire engineering team operations and delivery of platform and solutions. Own and manage the quality engineering as well as ensure reliability across all customer deployments.
• Grow the team: Attract, grow, and retain world-class engineering talent across backend, AI/ML, and Quality and CloudOps. Establish the hiring bar, engineering culture, and mentorship practices.
• Lead quality and release management: Be accountable for the quality, velocity, and reliability of every release we ship.
• Manage customer engagements: Ensure customer delivery teams execute successfully on top of our platform components, meeting timelines and quality expectations.
  
  

You’re a fit, if you have

• Proven track record of scaling teams or orgs (100–500+ engineers)
• You know how to keep the culture, quality and velocity intact as the team grows in hypergrowth phase
• Have success in growing teams with AI Native and a strong engineering mindset
• Startup or 0→1 experience building high-performance teams with first-principles thinking
• Shipped serious, production grade platforms, data and AI/ML infrastructure that got deployed at customer in production
• Hunger without ego. You care intensely about the outcomes, not the individual credit. You give your team the spotlight and take the heat when things go wrong.
• Able to thrive in a messy, ambiguous and high-speed environments where products are prototyped, assembled and shipped rapidly
