Position Purpose: New Position

Responsibilities

• Define the target microservices architecture, bounded contexts, and service boundaries using domain-driven design
• Own the API strategy and standards: gateway, contracts, versioning, security, and developer experience
• Design the migration approach (strangler-fig pattern) to decompose the monolith incrementally with zero disruption to steady-state operations
• Set technical standards, patterns, and guardrails for onsite/offshore engineering teams to build against
• Chair the architecture review board; own technical risk and non-functional requirements (scalability, resilience, observability)
• Partner with the AI/Automation Architect to ensure services are designed with clean, AI-consumable interfaces

• Domain-driven design and microservices architecture patterns
• API gateway and service mesh technologies (e.g., Kong, Apigee, Istio)
• Event-driven architecture and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka)
• Cloud-native design and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Proven legacy monolith-to-microservices migration experience
• Strong stakeholder communication — able to translate architecture into business risk/value for CIO-level audiences

• 15+ years professional experience
