About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Manager – Industrial Engineering to drive productivity improvement, process optimization, capacity enhancement, cost reduction, and operational excellence across manufacturing processes.

The role will be responsible for analysing existing production processes, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies, developing data-driven improvement initiatives, and partnering with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable solutions.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Industrial Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Process Improvement, Work Study, Capacity Planning, Productivity Improvement, Cost Optimization, and Continuous Improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Engineering & Process Improvement

• Develop and implement Industrial Engineering strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, capacity utilization, and overall manufacturing performance.
• Analyse manufacturing processes, workflows, manpower utilization, machine utilization, material movement, and production layouts to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct time study, motion study, work measurement, line balancing, capacity analysis, and productivity analysis.
• Identify production bottlenecks and develop effective solutions to improve throughput and reduce cycle time.
• Standardize processes and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), and process documentation.
  
  

Productivity & Cost Optimization

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, productivity enhancement, manpower optimization, and resource utilization.
• Develop and implement initiatives to reduce operational waste, downtime, rework, excess movement, waiting time, and other non-value-added activities.
• Drive manpower productivity and establish appropriate productivity benchmarks and performance standards.
• Evaluate process economics and support business cases for process improvements, automation, equipment, and technology investments.
  
  

Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

• Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations.
• Identify and eliminate the 7 wastes of manufacturing through structured improvement projects.
• Drive initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Root Cause Analysis, and Standard Work.
• Establish a culture of continuous improvement by engaging production teams and other stakeholders.
• Monitor improvement projects and ensure that implemented solutions deliver sustainable results.
  
  

Capacity Planning & Production Optimization

• Conduct capacity planning and capacity utilization analysis for manpower, machines, processes, and production lines.
• Support production planning teams in identifying capacity constraints and developing appropriate solutions.
• Recommend layout changes, manpower deployment, process changes, and equipment requirements to improve production flow.
• Support new product, process, machine, and plant expansion initiatives from an Industrial Engineering perspective.
  
  

Project Management

• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, resources, and budgets for Industrial Engineering and process improvement projects.
• Lead cross-functional teams to execute improvement initiatives and ensure timely completion.
• Track project progress, quantify benefits, and report project outcomes to senior management.
• Ensure that improvement initiatives are implemented effectively and sustained over time.
  
  

Data Analysis & Performance Management

• Develop and maintain productivity and operational performance metrics/KPIs.
• Analyse production data to identify trends, gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare regular dashboards and management reports covering productivity, efficiency, capacity utilization, downtime, manpower utilization, and cost improvement.
• Establish benchmarks and performance standards for critical production processes.
  
  

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Projects, HR, and other functions to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance and Industrial Engineering expertise to stakeholders during process improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Production and Operations leadership to ensure effective implementation of process changes.
• Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving and drive alignment on improvement initiatives.
  
  

Compliance, Safety & Standards

• Ensure that process improvement initiatives comply with applicable quality, safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Incorporate safety, ergonomics, quality, and compliance considerations into process and workplace design.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and ensure adherence to established processes and standards.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Excellence, Process Improvement, or Operations.
• Experience in a manufacturing / production environment with exposure to high-volume or multi-process operations.
• Hands-on experience in Lean Manufacturing, productivity improvement, cost optimization, and continuous improvement projects.
• Experience in leading cross-functional improvement initiatives and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
