Role summary

We are hiring a Shopify TypeScript Engineer to build and support scalable commerce solutions on Shopify Plus. The role covers headless storefronts, custom apps, checkout customization, and integrations, working closely with product, UX, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Build storefronts in TypeScript and React using Hydrogen (Remix/React Router) or Next.js

Develop custom Shopify apps, Shopify Functions, and Checkout UI Extensions

Integrate the GraphQL Admin API, Storefront API, and webhooks

Connect Shopify with ERP, OMS, CRM, CMS, payment, and fulfilment systems

Optimize performance, accessibility, SEO, and Core Web Vitals

Write automated tests, take part in code reviews, and troubleshoot production issues



Required skills

Strong TypeScript and JavaScript, with React

2+ years of hands-on Shopify development, including Shopify Plus

Hydrogen, Remix, or Next.js in production

GraphQL, the Shopify Admin and Storefront APIs, and webhooks

Checkout extensibility (Functions, UI Extensions)

Liquid and Online Store 2.0 themes, metafields, and metaobjects

Git, CI/CD, and automated testing (Vitest, Cypress, or Playwright)



Level expectations

7+ years Hands-on developer who owns features end to end, works independently, and reviews code for junior engineers.



Preferred

Custom app development with Node.js, Shopify CLI, App Bridge, and Polaris

Headless CMS experience (Contentful, AEM)

Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Subscription, payment, or fulfillment integrations

Composable commerce / MACH familiarity

Tailwind CSS, GitHub Actions, Datadog
