What you’ll do

• Edit long-form and short-form videos, with separate cuts for YouTube, Shorts and reels.
• Find the hook in raw footage and win the first 5–15 seconds.
• Shape the story with pacing, pauses and visual emphasis.
• Cut for retention, not just continuity.
• Trim the fluff, keep the personality.
• Keep videos clear on mobile, with the right visual density for each audience.
• Work with thumbnail designers so the video and thumbnail match.
• Handle audio cleanup, basic colour correction and exports.
• Keep project files organised for quick revisions.
• Ship multiple videos a week on tight publishing schedules.
• Improve retention with every video.

The ideal candidate

• Strong in Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
• Gets YouTube-style storytelling and how viewer attention works.
• Fast, without messy timelines.
• A good ear for dialogue and rhythm.
• Delivers clean edits that need few revisions.
• Your own laptop for editing.
• Bonus: experience editing creator-led content, and After Effects.
• Bonus: you read retention graphs and act on performance feedback.
