AutoCAD Draftsman / AutoCAD Designer

Job Summary

XELUXE is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled AutoCAD Draftsman / Designer to support its engineering consultancy projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate 2D drawings, layouts, and technical documentation based on engineering specifications and inputs from the design team.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of engineering drawings, drafting standards, dimensions, and drawing coordination, with the ability to work closely with engineers and project teams to deliver high-quality drawings within project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• CAD Drafting and Drawing Preparation
• Prepare, develop, and modify 2D engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Create floor plans, layouts, sections, elevations, details, and schematic drawings based on engineering inputs.
• Convert sketches, markups, PDFs, and reference drawings into accurate CAD drawings.
• Revise drawings based on comments from engineers, consultants, and clients.
• Maintain drawing accuracy, consistency, dimensions, scales, and drafting standards.
• Engineering Drawing Coordination
• Coordinate with engineering teams to understand project requirements and drawing specifications.
• Incorporate design changes and technical comments into drawings.
• Assist in preparing coordinated drawings for engineering consultancy projects.
• Identify drawing discrepancies and communicate technical issues to the responsible engineer.
• Support drawing coordination with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines as required.
• Documentation and Quality Control
• Maintain proper drawing numbering, revision control, and file naming conventions.
• Ensure drawings follow company standards and project-specific drafting requirements.
• Conduct basic quality checks before submitting drawings for engineering review.
• Prepare drawing sets for internal review, client submission, and project documentation.
• Maintain organized CAD files, reference drawings, and project folders.
• Project Support
• Assist engineers in preparing drawings for design submissions, tender documentation, and construction-related deliverables.
• Complete assigned drafting tasks within agreed timelines.
• Support the preparation of as-built drawings and updated layouts when required.
• Incorporate feedback efficiently and maintain a record of drawing revisions.
  
  

Educational Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or a relevant engineering discipline is preferred.
• A degree or diploma in Engineering or CAD Drafting will be an advantage.
  
  

Experience Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting or engineering drawing preparation is preferred.
• Freshers with strong AutoCAD skills and a good understanding of engineering drawings may also be considered.
• Experience in engineering consultancy, building services, MEP, Fire & Life Safety, or related industries will be an advantage.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Good proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting.
• Understanding of layers, blocks, dimensions, layouts, plotting, and external references.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with drawing scales, line types, symbols, and drafting standards.
• Knowledge of PDF-to-CAD conversion and drawing revision procedures.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with Revit or other design software is an added advantage.
