Assistant Manager – Reinforcement (Precast Plant)

Qualification

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• Certification in Reinforcement Detailing (preferred)
  
  

Experience

• 9-12 Years of experience in Reinforcement Yard/Steel Processing.
• Minimum 6-8 years in a Precast Manufacturing Plant is preferred.
  
  

Job Purpose

To manage and control all reinforcement-related activities in the precast plant, ensuring timely availability of reinforcement cages as per production schedules, quality standards, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Coordination

• Prepare daily and weekly reinforcement production plans based on casting schedules.
• Coordinate with Planning, Production, Quality, and Stores departments for smooth execution.
• Ensure availability of reinforcement steel, consumables, and accessories.
• Monitor reinforcement yard activities to meet production targets.
  
  

Reinforcement Production

• Supervise cutting, bending, fabrication, and assembly of reinforcement cages.
• Ensure reinforcement cages are fabricated as per approved drawings and bar bending schedules (BBS).
• Monitor productivity and optimize manpower utilization.
• Ensure timely availability of reinforcement cages for casting operations.
  
  

Quality Control

• Verify reinforcement dimensions, spacing, cover blocks, inserts, and embedment's before casting.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, standards, and quality procedures.
• Coordinate with Quality team for inspections and corrective actions.
• Minimize rework and material wastage.
  
  

Team Management

• Lead supervisors, foremen, and reinforcement workers.
• Allocate manpower effectively based on production priorities.
• Conduct skill development and safety awareness sessions.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and workforce discipline.
  
  

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure safe working practices within the reinforcement yard.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety inspections.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and statutory requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area.
  
  

Monitoring & Reporting

• Track daily production against planned targets.
• Prepare MIS reports related to reinforcement consumption, productivity, and resource utilization.
• Analyze reinforcement wastage and implement cost-control measures.
• Participate in production review meetings and provide status updates.
