As Principal Platform Engineer, you will help define the technical direction of MCO’s engineering platform and lead the design and implementation of some of the company’s most important platform initiatives. Working closely with engineering teams across the organisation, you will identify bottlenecks, simplify complex systems, and build capabilities that improve the productivity and effectiveness of every engineer at MCO.
A major part of the role will involve modernising and evolving MCO’s platform capabilities across infrastructure, software delivery, observability, security, automation, and developer experience. This includes driving architectural decisions, establishing engineering standards and best practices, and ensuring platform investments support both current needs and long-term growth.
The role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Architecture, Security, Operations, and AI teams to solve complex technical challenges and drive platform adoption across the organisation. You will play a key role in major technical decisions, architecture reviews, incident response, platform reliability initiatives, and the ongoing evolution of MCO’s engineering practices.
While this is an individual contributor role, technical leadership is a critical part of the position. Success will depend on your ability to influence engineers across teams, mentor senior engineers, build consensus around technical direction, and raise the overall engineering bar across the organisation.
