TownPlanMap makes India's fragmented urban planning data readable for 1.5 million people every month.

Now we're hiring a Product Manager to help us reach the next 15 million.

Town Plan Map is India's urban planning intelligence platform. We digitize and organize the planning maps, zoning data, development schemes, land records, and public notices that governments publish across hundreds of cities, and we make them accessible to everyone through a single interactive map.

Why this matters:

• Urban land data in India is broken into pieces. It sits inside government offices, giant PDFs, scanned maps, and gazette notifications. Reading it has always needed specialized expertise or strong government connections, which quietly favored large developers and institutional investors while leaving citizens, small investors, brokers, and surveyors behind.
• We are closing that gap. Planning maps, zoning boundaries, road proposals, land reservations, real estate activity, and public notice intelligence all come together on one map, so anyone can see how a city is planned, where development is clustering, and which areas are likely to grow.

What we've built:

• 1.5 million+ monthly active users across India
• 150+ cities covered, actively expanding in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan
• A user base spanning village land buyers, investors, developers, brokers, surveyors, GIS experts, legal professionals, and urban researchers

What you'll do:

• Own the full product lifecycle: discovery, definition, prioritization, delivery, and iteration
• Go deep on user research. Talk to real users, understand their workflows, and surface needs they haven't articulated
• Write clearly: PRDs, user stories, product briefs, and decision logs
• Work directly with the founders on product strategy and roadmap
• Partner with engineering to turn requirements into well-scoped, shippable work
• Lead parts of the team when needed, while still contributing hands-on
• Track product performance and let data drive decisions
• Think in systems and design for scale. Our product serves 1.5 million+ users and is growing fast

Who you should be:

• 2 to 4 years in product management or a closely relevant industry role
• Hands-on and directly contributing, not just planning and delegating
• A strong bias toward research and documentation. You think in writing and read deeply before forming opinions
• Experienced with, or driven to build, products at 1 million+ user scale, with real instincts for systems, reliability, and experience at that size
• Able to work independently and take ownership, while also leading and managing a team
• Comfortable working with senior leadership and presenting ideas, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly
• Structural clarity in thinking: you break complex problems into components and explain your logic
• A growth mindset and the willingness to put in what building something meaningful takes
• Familiarity with GIS, PropTech, urban planning, or real estate is a strong plus, not a requirement

One more thing:

• A polished CV tells us very little. What interests us far more is whether you have actually done something: shipped something that worked, solved a problem that was genuinely hard, or driven an outcome you're proud of. It doesn't have to be a product achievement. It can be anything from your career or your life. Share it however you like, inside your CV or separately.
