ENGINEER MECHANICAL

This incumbent shall be part of the Mechanical engineering function for all the projects in Gypsum & Insulation business across India and abroad. The incumbent will be needed to be mobile across various project locations based on requirements.

Regular interactions with all the stakeholders of GMT team, local project teams, external third-party vendors to get the projects completed on time while discharging the following.

Design & Development

• Develop initial concepts, layouts, and detailed engineering drawings for mechanical systems and equipment.
• Create 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and produce accurate manufacturing drawings and plant layouts using Inventor and AutoCAD
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal specifications
• Collaborate with process engineers and other disciplines to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly
  
  

Project Execution

• Lead mechanical scope for capital projects, including process design development, Equipment selection and procurement support, Installation & commissioning activities.
• Prepare feasibility studies, technical specifications, and budget estimates for proposed schemes
• Develop and monitor project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of milestones
  
  

Technical Expertise

• Supervise and guide contractor teams during equipment installation and commissioning
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and compliance with project specifications
• Conduct site inspections, resolve technical issues, and maintain quality standards throughout execution
  
  

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for all projects, including design files, installation records, and commissioning reports
• Ensure traceability and compliance with audit and regulatory requirements
  
  

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

• Perform root cause analysis for equipment or process failures and implement corrective actions
• Recommend and implement mechanical solutions to improve plant reliability and efficiency
  
  

Training & Knowledge Sharing

• Prepare and deliver training materials for site personnel and contractors
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and technical development within the team
