Job Description

We are looking for a Mid-Level Back-End Developer to join a dedicated engineering engagement supporting Hurricane Capital’s portfolio management system. This is a full-time, remote role where you will work exclusively on Hurricane Capital’s platform building core infrastructure from the ground up.

Level: Mid-Level Back-End Developer

Location: Remote

Working Hours: Must align with U.S. East Coast hours

Employment Type: Full-time, dedicated engagement

Start Date: Immediate / ASAP

Target: MVP delivery by end of year

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python.
• Build the portfolio management platform architecture from the ground up.
• Implement and troubleshoot Bloomberg API integrations for market data ingestion.
• Develop reliable data processing workflows for financial market data.
• Design and maintain database systems using PostgreSQL and SQL.
• Work with Snowflake as a cloud data warehouse for scalable data storage and analytics.
• Collaborate with Azure cloud infrastructure and deployment workflows.
• Participate in real-time collaboration with Hurricane Capital’s engineering team during U.S. East Coast hours.
• Coordinate with Transient.AI engineers for code reviews, quality checks, and production merges.
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable backend code.

• Deliver a functional MVP of the portfolio management system by the end of the year.
• Establish stable Bloomberg connectivity with reliable market data flow.
• Build scalable backend services that support future platform growth.
• Maintain high-quality code standards through effective collaboration and reviews.

Required Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python backend development.
• Hands-on experience building APIs and backend services.
• Experience integrating Bloomberg APIs or financial market data systems.
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience working with PostgreSQL databases.
• Ability to work consistently during U.S. East Coast business hours.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a greenfield environment.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse platforms.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Knowledge of JavaScript or full-stack development.
• Understanding of capital markets, financial systems, or portfolio management platforms.
