Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Structural BIM Engineer III with 4–6 years of experience in US-based wood/timber projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in modeling and detailing structural systems using Revit, along with proficiency in timber-specific add-ins. This role involves working closely with structural engineers, architects, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality BIM models, construction documentation, and BIM coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D BIM models for wood/timber structures using Autodesk Revit.
- Prepare structural framing plans, sections, elevations, and detailed drawings for US projects.
- Work on light-frame wood, mass timber (CLT/GLT), and panelized construction systems.
- Utilize Revit add-ins for timber modeling, such as AGACAD Wood Framing or similar tools.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Architectural, MEP, and Structural) to resolve design and coordination issues.
- Ensure models comply with US building codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Perform clash detection and resolve coordination issues using Navisworks and other BIM tools.
- Generate accurate shop drawings and construction documentation.
- Maintain model quality, BIM standards, and version control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support BIM Coordinators in BIM execution planning, model reviews, and project workflows.
- Guide and mentor junior BIM Engineers while ensuring adherence to project standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering or a related field.
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in Structural BIM Modeling.
- Experience working on US-based wood/timber projects is mandatory.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Structural).
- Experience with timber/wood modeling add-ins such as AGACAD Wood Framing or equivalent.
- Good understanding of US construction standards and structural detailing practices.
- Knowledge of structural systems including light wood framing, mass timber (CLT/GLT), and panelized construction.
- Proficiency in BIM coordination tools such as Navisworks.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in modeling and documentation.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD and other BIM tools.
- Exposure to Dynamo or parametric modeling.
- Knowledge of prefabrication and modular construction workflows.
- Familiarity with LOD standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous process improvement.
