Position Summary:
ASSA ABLOY is seeking candidates for a Design Engineer position in the Design and Development Department, based at our Jamnagar plant (Shree Mahavir Metalcraft Pvt. Ltd.).

- Design and develop mechanical components, tools, fixtures, and gauges using CAD software.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and BOMs as per GD&T standards.
- Support new product development (NPD) through design feasibility, DFMEA, and design validation.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and sourcing teams to ensure design intent is met.
- Conduct design reviews and implement design changes for cost, quality, and performance improvement.
- Support tool trials, first-part inspection, and part validation activities.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety norms, and quality systems.
- Provide technical support for production issues and continuous improvement projects.
- Strong understanding of tool design principles, press tool & die‑casting tool functionality.
- Expertise in CAD software such as AutoCAD & SolidWorks.
- In‑depth knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawing standards.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Good communication, teamwork, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple design tasks efficiently.
- Understanding of machining, manufacturing processes, and tool room practices (preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / production / industrial engineering or equivalent.
