Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or higher with minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

Position Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Test Engineer with 5+ years of experience in data and ETL testing to join our Data Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in validating end-to-end data pipelines, data transformations, and reconciliation across cloud-based data platforms. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery, is preferred. Candidates with insurance domain knowledge will have an added advantage.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test cases for ETL and data pipeline validation.
• Perform end-to-end (E2E), regression, and story testing for data engineering projects.
• Validate data transformations across source and target systems to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Execute source-to-target data reconciliation and identify data discrepancies.
• Develop and execute SQL queries in BigQuery for data validation and analysis.
• Review and analyze workflow execution logs from Composer/Airflow to troubleshoot data pipeline issues.
• Validate data movement processes using GCS and GoAnywhere/export logs.
• Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and product teams to understand business requirements and define test scenarios.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across multiple data sources.
• Support test planning, estimation, and reporting activities within Agile development teams.
  
  

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of overall experience in Software/Data Testing.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in ETL/Data Testing.
• 3+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries, preferably using BigQuery.
• 3+ years of experience in Data Regression, End-to-End (E2E), and Story Testing.
• Strong expertise in source-to-target data reconciliation.
• Experience validating end-to-end data transformations and business rules.
• Hands-on experience with: BigQuery SQL, Google Cloud Storage (GCS), Composer/Airflow log analysis
• GoAnywhere/export log validation
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  
  

Good-to-Have Skill:

• Experience working on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Platform.
• Insurance domain knowledge.
• Experience with cloud-based ETL/data pipeline testing.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes for data engineering projects.
• Exposure to test automation for data validation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
