AMS Verification Engineer

Location: Bengaluru | Noida | Hyderabad (On-site / Hybrid)

Employment Type: Full-time

Experience: 1-3 years

Function: Semiconductor Engineering — Analog Mixed-Signal Verification

About SiliconBoard

SiliconBoard connects the top 1% of semiconductor engineering talent with leading companies across the semiconductor ecosystem. This opportunity is offered through the SiliconBoard Talent Network. Shortlisted profiles are evaluated and shared with hiring companies within our partner network for relevant open positions.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced AMS Verification Engineers to verify complex analog and mixed-signal IPs and SoCs — including PLLs, data converters, power management circuits, SerDes, and sensor interfaces. You will develop and execute mixed-signal verification strategies spanning behavioral modeling, co-simulation, and regression automation, working closely with analog design, digital design, and verification teams to ensure first-silicon success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and execute AMS verification plans for mixed-signal IPs and full-chip integration, covering functional, connectivity, and performance requirements.
  • Develop behavioral models of analog blocks using Verilog-AMS, Verilog-A, real number modeling (RNM/SV-RNM), or wreal for digital-centric verification environments.
  • Build and maintain mixed-signal co-simulation environments (analog SPICE + digital RTL/gate-level) and validate model-to-schematic equivalence.
  • Create testbenches, checkers, assertions, and coverage models for analog-digital interface verification, including calibration loops, trim logic, and power sequencing.
  • Verify supply domains, level shifters, isolation cells, and power-mode transitions across mixed-signal boundaries.
  • Run and debug regressions; analyze failures across analog waveforms and digital logs; drive issues to closure with design teams.
  • Automate verification flows using scripting, and contribute to methodology improvements and regression infrastructure.
  • Support post-silicon validation and correlate silicon behavior with pre-silicon verification results.
Required Qualifications
  • B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, VLSI, Microelectronics, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of hands-on industry experience in analog mixed-signal verification.
  • Strong understanding of analog circuit behavior (PLLs, ADCs/DACs, LDOs, bandgaps, oscillators, or SerDes) and how it translates into verifiable models.
  • Proven experience with behavioral modeling using Verilog-AMS, Verilog-A, or real number modeling techniques.
  • Working knowledge of digital verification fundamentals — SystemVerilog, UVM concepts, assertions, and functional coverage.
  • Ability to articulate verification strategy, modeling trade-offs, debug methodology, and coverage closure from prior industry projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Modeling & Methodology: SV-RNM/wreal modeling, model validation and equivalence checking, UVM-MS, metric-driven verification, low-power verification (UPF/CPF) across mixed-signal domains.
  • Domain Exposure: Power management ICs, high-speed interfaces (SerDes, DDR PHY), data converters, clocking circuits, or automotive/sensor mixed-signal SoCs.
  • Scripting & Automation: Python, Perl, TCL, or shell scripting for regression automation and results analysis.
  • Tools: Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Cadence Xcelium, AMS Designer, Spectre, Virtuoso, Synopsys VCS, CustomSim/XA, PrimeSim, Siemens Questa ADMS, or equivalent mixed-signal simulation platforms.
Hiring Process
  1. Submit your resume through the application link.
  2. Profiles are manually reviewed and shortlisted by our team.
  3. Shortlisted candidates receive an AI-based technical interview link.
  4. Qualified profiles are considered for relevant openings across the SiliconBoard partner network.
Additional Information

Compensation is determined by the hiring company based on role, experience, and technical readiness, in line with industry standards. Submission of an application does not guarantee an interview, referral, or employment. Profiles are evaluated on technical depth, project experience, role fit, and the requirements of participating semiconductor companies.
