Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Passion for community building and Japanese language education
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Proficiency in communication skills in Japanese (preferable)

- Experience with website management platforms preferred
- Legal authorization to work in the United States

- Marketing Strategy & Program Promotion
- Develop and lead Aozora Community’s overall marketing and promotion strategy across print, digital, and social channels
- Collaborate with the Directors to align marketing priorities with organizational goals
- Identify target audiences for each program and tailor messaging and channel mix to reach them effectively
- Build and maintain an annual marketing calendar aligned with enrollment periods and program launches
- Track enrollment, engagement, and campaign performance metrics, adjusting strategy based on results
- Website & Digital Communications
- Maintain and update the Squarespace website, including program pages, event listings, and registration links
- Manage Bloomz and Jumbula to communicate with families and the community, including posting timely updates, reminders, announcements, program and event listings, and promotional messages
- Manage MailChimp email campaigns, including newsletter creation, list segmentation, and send scheduling
- Monitor engagement and delivery metrics across all digital platforms and adjust communication strategies accordingly
- Social Media & Content Management
- Develop and implement social media strategies to promote programs effectively
- Create and schedule engaging content for various social media platforms
- Monitor social media channels, respond to comments, and engage with the audience
- Utilize analytics to track and optimize the performance of social media campaigns
- Graphic Design & Creative Assets
- Provide direction to graphic designers for program promotion and event campaigns
- Create visually appealing and engaging graphics for program promotion across various platforms
- Design promotional materials, including banners, flyers, brochures, and digital assets
- Ensure brand consistency and high-quality design across all promotional materials
- Print Advertising & Media Relations
- Determine optimal newspaper outlets and ad placements based on target audience and program goals
- Design eye-catching newspaper advertisements and develop compelling ad content
- Manage the newspaper advertising budget and schedule, and coordinate with media outlets for timely, accurate ad placements
- Track and evaluate the performance of print campaigns and adjust strategy as needed
- Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts and influencers
- Coordinate interviews, features, and other media opportunities to enhance program visibility
- Photography & Digital Asset Management (Smugmug)
- Organize and maintain Aozora Community’s photo library using Smugmug
- Upload, categorize, and archive event and program photos for easy access by staff and families
- Coordinate with photographers and volunteers to ensure timely photo delivery and consistent organization
- Manage photo-sharing permissions and privacy settings appropriately
- Community Events
- Plan and organize events according to the organization’s mission and event objectives
- Coordinate all aspects of events including hiring vendors, booking venues, inviting participants, and creating signage
- Act as a point of contact for staff, event volunteers, vendors, and venues throughout the event planning process and during the event
- Manage guest lists and vendor specifications, ensuring all parties understand relevant information and details
- Negotiate contracts with venue personnel, caterers, A/V providers, and other vendors while meeting budgetary objectives
- Perform post-event tasks promptly, including communicating with guests, reviewing invoices and bills, approving payments, and documenting issues and resolutions
- PTO Volunteer Coordination & Communication
- Recruit, coordinate, and communicate with PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) volunteers to support community events and programs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for PTO volunteers regarding scheduling, logistics, and event needs
- Plan and execute recurring community events such as Movie Night and the Holiday Party
- Coordinate volunteer communication and support for other community events as needed
- Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks and support organizational initiatives as assigned by the Executive Director to advance Aozora Community’s mission and programs.
