Regional Community Manager
About Us:
Playo is a leading global sports community and booking platform with over 5 million users across 5 countries. The platform connects players, venues, trainers, and brands across 50+ sports, operating at the intersection of consumer technology, payments, and real-world logistics. Bootstrapped and profitable, Playo is building a scalable, multi-engine business with a focus on long-term sustainability and global growth. Our aim is to build a first of its kind sports community platform for the world…proudly and humbly - Made in India.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a hands-on regional community manager to own demand activation across a cluster of cities in your region. As our BD team secures venue supply in new cities, you'll be the one who brings those cities to life — travelling in, organising events and tournaments, and building the local community that turns a new venue into a thriving one. You'll spend most of your time on the road, in venues, and among players. Your work directly converts supply into demand and one-time bookings into belonging. This is a role for someone who loves people, sport, and the energy of building something from zero in a new city.
What you'll do:
- Own city activation across your region — travel to cities where BD has secured venue supply and turn them live with demand
- Plan and run events, tournaments, and community meetups at venues to generate first bookings and repeat play
- Build and nurture local sports communities that solidify demand and keep players coming back
- Recruit and manage local hosts, captains, and community leaders on the ground
- Partner with venue owners to co-create programming that fills courts
- Work closely with BD, marketing, and central ops to sequence activations and hit demand targets
- Track activation performance city by city — bookings, retention, community growth — and double down on what works
- Be Playo's face in every city you touch
What we're looking for:
2–5 years in community building, event management, on-ground marketing, or regional field operations
Willing and eager to travel extensively across your region — this is a road-first role
A natural organiser and people person who can rally a crowd and run an event end to end
Comfortable owning targets and working independently far from HQ
Sports enthusiast who understands what brings players together
Fluent in the region's primary languages is a strong plus
Based in or deeply familiar with your region
