Associate Vice President (Legal)

What you will do?

• Independently draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, partnership agreements, NDAs, licensing agreements, and customer contracts
• Advise business and leadership teams on legal risks, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance matters
• Manage litigation, disputes, and regulatory proceedings, including coordinating with external counsel and overseeing case strategy
• Conduct legal research and provide opinions on complex legal questions across corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory law
• Support M&A transactions, due diligence, and corporate restructuring activities
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, industry regulations, and internal policies
• Draft and review internal policies, SOPs, and governance documents
• Mentor and guide junior associates and legal interns
• Liaise with regulators, government bodies, and external stakeholders as required
• Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and proactively advise the business on potential impacts

What we are looking for?

• 8–12 years of relevant experience in corporate/commercial law, preferably with a mix of law firm and in-house experience
• LLB/JD from a recognized law school; enrollment with the relevant Bar Council/Bar Association Strong drafting, negotiation, and contract management skills
• Sound knowledge of corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory laws applicable to the business
• Experience handling litigation and managing external counsel
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound business judgment, and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal teams
• Prior experience mentoring junior team members is a plus
• High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail
