Role - Head Safety, VAML Lanjigarh

Qualification - B.Tech. in Industrial Safety or Engineering with a Diploma in Industrial Safety from RLI/CLI or an institute recognized by Odisha SCTEVT.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the organization's Zero Harm and Zero Injury agenda through effective implementation of safety training programs, Vedanta Safety Standards, observation management, incident management, and safety alert recommendations.
• Ensure robust deployment and compliance of the Vedanta Sustainability Assurance Program (VSAP) safety modules across the site.
• Develop and manage the annual safety budget to support sustainability initiatives and Health & Safety Community of Practice objectives.
• Lead engagement with statutory authorities, government agencies, industry forums, and international organizations on safety and regulatory matters.
• Review and strengthen critical risk assessment processes, including HIRA, HAZOP, LOPA, and other process safety studies, ensuring effective risk mitigation.
• Ensure rigorous implementation and governance of the Permit-to-Work (PTW) System, Process Safety Management (PSM), and other critical safety controls.
• Lead incident investigation governance, ensuring timely closure of investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor and drive closure of site incidents, internal audit observations, and Group Safety Alert action items.
• Foster a proactive safety culture through continuous employee engagement, leadership interventions, and behavioral safety initiatives.
• Ensure 100% adoption and effective utilization of ENABLON for safety reporting, tracking, and compliance management.
• Drive compliance with all applicable Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) laws, regulations, standards, and corporate requirements.
• Provide strategic leadership to enhance safety performance, strengthen operational discipline, and embed world-class safety practices across the organization.
