Jr. Engineer – Applications (Sales & Marketing)

Job Summary

We are looking for a technically skilled and detail-oriented Jr. Engineer – Applications to support the Sales & Marketing team in handling technical inquiries, valve selection, sizing, calculations, quotations, and technical documentation.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in valves, pumps, or industrial machinery, with a good understanding of application engineering, mechanical equipment, and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Inquiry & Tender Management

• Study customer inquiries and tender requirements in detail.
• Enter inquiries into the ERP system and prepare quotations when required.
• Perform valve sizing and selection based on customer application data.
• Select suitable valve size, model, type, material, and pressure-temperature rating.
• Evaluate application conditions including fluid, pressure, temperature, and flow requirements.
• Coordinate with clients and the Sales team for technical queries and clarifications.
• Provide technical support and initial product training to the Sales & Marketing team.

Technical Calculations & Valve Selection

• Perform calculations for Safety Valves and Control Valves.
• Calculate required flow capacity and valve size.
• Select appropriate valve type, trim, material, and pressure rating.
• Analyze operating conditions and application requirements.
• Evaluate technical parameters such as valve opening, velocity, noise level, flow rate, and reliability.
• Ensure correct product selection based on service conditions and customer specifications.

Technical Documentation

• Prepare Datasheets, General Arrangement Drawings (GAD), QAPs, and technical documents.
• Prepare valve specifications, material details, selection basis, service conditions, calculated values, accessories, and model information.
• Prepare technical documentation for software, product catalogues, and websites.
• Review and update technical documents based on customer requirements.

Order Execution & Client Approval

• Prepare and issue approved Datasheets, GADs, and QAPs to Production, Planning, and Quality departments.
• Submit technical documents to clients for approval.
• Review customer comments and prepare revised documents when required.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth execution of orders.
• Maintain proper records of revisions and technical approvals.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Good knowledge of industrial valves and application engineering.
• Understanding of valve sizing, selection, and pressure-temperature ratings.
• Knowledge of Safety Valves and Control Valves.
• Ability to understand technical drawings, datasheets, and specifications.
• Knowledge of GAD, QAP, BOM, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and relevant engineering/software tools.
• Ability to work with Sales, Production, Quality, and Engineering teams.

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in:
• Valves
• Pumps
• Industrial Machinery
• Application Engineering
• Design Engineering
• Experience in valve sizing and selection will be highly preferred.
