Banking & Payments Solution Architect – Presales & Customer Engagement

Role Summary

Synechron is seeking a highly accomplished Banking & Payments Solution Architect to drive client-facing consulting, solution architecture, presales, and strategic business growth initiatives across Banking, Payments, Cards, Merchant Acquiring, Digital Banking, Fintech, and Financial Services.

This is a senior leadership role requiring deep expertise in banking and payments transformation, enterprise architecture, and technology modernization. The successful candidate will engage directly with CIOs, CTOs, Chief Architects, Heads of Payments, Digital Transformation Leaders, and business executives to shape strategic technology initiatives, define transformation roadmaps, and develop innovative solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines strong domain knowledge, architecture leadership, consulting capabilities, and commercial acumen with experience leading large-scale transformation pursuits and executive stakeholder engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Client Engagement & Strategic Advisory

• Lead strategic discussions with CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, Heads of Payments, Chief Enterprise Architects, and business stakeholders.
• Conduct executive workshops, discovery sessions, architecture assessments, and transformation planning engagements.
• Translate client business priorities into technology-enabled transformation roadmaps.
• Present solution strategies, business cases, investment justifications, and modernization plans to executive stakeholders.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities to expand strategic engagements.

Solution Architecture & Presales Leadership

• Lead end-to-end solutioning for large transformation programs across banking and payments ecosystems.
• Own architecture vision, solution strategy, target-state architecture, implementation approach, and commercial alignment.
• Lead RFPs, RFIs, solution proposals, bid responses, estimations, and pursuit activities.
• Create compelling value propositions and client presentations that differentiate Synechron's capabilities.

Business Development & Practice Growth

• Partner with sales and account teams to drive pipeline growth and revenue generation.
• Identify and shape consulting, implementation, managed services, and transformation opportunities.
• Contribute to practice development, GTM strategies, strategic alliances, and industry positioning.
• Represent Synechron in executive briefings, client workshops, conferences, and industry forums.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related discipline.
• Master's Degree in Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or MBA preferred.

Experience

• 15+ years of experience in Banking, Payments, Financial Services, FinTech, or Technology Consulting.
• Minimum 8+ years in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Presales, Consulting, or Technology Advisory roles.
• Demonstrated success leading large global transformation pursuits and strategic client engagements.
• Strong experience influencing technology decisions at executive and board levels.

Experience Range: 15-20+ Years

Target Profile: Banking & Payments Enterprise Architect, Chief Architect, Presales Director, Consulting Leader, Technology Strategist, or Transformation Architect with strong CXO engagement and business development experience.
