Senior Server Engineer

We have a requirement for Senior Server Engineer for Isha Foundation, Coimbatore. Please find below the details:

Job Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring security, performance, and availability.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and server-related services.
• Configure and maintain VMware and Proxmox virtualization environments, including VM deployment, migration, and troubleshooting.
• Manage enterprise SAN/NAS storage, capacity planning, performance monitoring, and storage expansion.
• Execute and monitor backup jobs, recovery operations, retention policies, and periodic restore testing.
• Operate and maintain physical LTO tape libraries, including media management, archival, and offline backups.
• Monitor infrastructure health, configure alerts, troubleshoot incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
• Perform server patching, firmware upgrades, preventive maintenance, and infrastructure optimisation.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, operational procedures, and disaster recovery readiness

Skills and Competencies Required:

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux administration, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi/vCenter, Proxmox VE, and virtual machine management.
• Proficiency in SAN/NAS storage, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB/CIFS protocols.
• Experience in backup, recovery, LTO tape library operations, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, InfluxDB, and Telegraf.
• Knowledge of server hardware, firmware upgrades, patch management, security hardening, and troubleshooting.
• Basic scripting skills in Bash or PowerShell, with strong technical documentation and problem-solving abilities.
