WE’RE HIRING | SENIOR & JUNIOR LABORATORY TECHNICIANS – HISTOCHEMISTRY LABORATORY

The Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre, IIT Madras, Chennai, invites applications from motivated and dedicated professionals for the positions of Senior and Junior Laboratory Technicians in our Histochemistry Laboratory.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with a strong interest in laboratory science and a passion for contributing to cutting-edge neuroscience research. Candidates with prior experience in a histopathology laboratory will be given preference. Selected candidates will receive comprehensive hands-on laboratory training during the first three months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including cryostats, autostainers, and coverslippers.
• Perform cryosectioning and prepare laboratory solutions and reagents.
• Establish and maintain laboratory procedures for experimental workflows.
• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain laboratory hygiene and comply with biosafety protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary research teams.

Candidate Profile:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to following laboratory protocols.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Adaptability to a dynamic and fast-paced research environment.
• A proactive attitude towards achieving research and project milestones.

Educational Qualifications (Mandatory):

• B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) OR
• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT).

Experience: Candidates with or without prior work experience are welcome to apply. Experience in histopathology laboratories will be an added advantage.
