The Role

You've shipped production apps. You know the difference between 'works' and 'ships at scale.' You've optimised memory, debugged production crashes, and managed app store releases. You're not building for a classroom — you're building for users.

This is a 6-month contract with a clear path to full-time if you deliver solid work and grow with the team.

What You Will Do

• Design and build native or cross-platform mobile applications (iOS, Android, or React Native — bring your depth).
• Own the full app lifecycle: architecture, development, testing, optimisation, and production support.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API contracts and data flow.
• Optimise for performance: startup time, memory usage, battery efficiency, responsiveness.
• Debug production issues with speed and precision using debuggers and profiling tools.
• Manage app store deployments and handle release cycles.
• Write clean, testable code that survives code review.
• Participate in sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• 2+ years of production experience building mobile applications (iOS native, Android native, or React Native — one deep expertise).
• Expert-level proficiency in your primary stack: Swift/Kotlin for native, or JavaScript/TypeScript for React Native.
• Hands-on experience with production app optimisation: memory profiling, startup time, battery efficiency.
• Real debugging skills using DevTools, Xcode, or Android Studio to solve production crashes.
• A published app on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
• Git workflow and team-based code review experience.
  
  

Good to Have

• Experience with local storage, device APIs, and app permissions.
• Familiarity with push notifications and deep linking.
• Understanding of REST API integration and state management patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD for mobile (GitHub Actions, Fastlane).
• Backend notification services (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
• Biometric authentication (fingerprint/face ID).
• Offline-first architecture or data sync patterns.
• Experience with app performance monitoring tools.
  
  

What You Will Work On

• React Native: JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, state management (Redux, Zustand), local storage, REST APIs.
• iOS: Swift, UIKit or SwiftUI, CoreData, URLSession, Xcode debugging.
• Android: Kotlin, Jetpack, Room database, Retrofit, Android Studio profiling.
