VORTEX is looking for a dynamic and technically strong Product Development Engineer who will take ownership of the complete product development cycle for electromagnetic clutch and brake solutions used in automotive and industrial applications. This role requires hands-on involvement in design coordination, prototype development, testing validation, internal cross-functional alignment, and supplier coordination. We are looking for someone who can independently manage development activities from concept to production readiness.

Product Development Cycle Management (End-to-End Ownership):
- Manage the complete Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) from: Concept & feasibility, Design team coordination, Prototype development, Testing & validation, Quality team coordination, Production team coordination.
- Ensure timelines, technical accuracy, and cost targets are achieved.
- Support continuous product improvement and value engineering initiatives.
Closely coordinate with:
- Design Team - Design inputs, drawing updates, technical modifications.
- Testing Department - Prototype testing and performance validation.
- Production - Manufacturability and process feasibility.
- Quality - Inspection standards and validation reports.
- Purchase - Raw material and component sourcing.
- Sample Development Team - Sample preparation and approvals.
- Ensure smooth technical communication and execution across departments.
- Coordinate prototype manufacturing and sample preparation.
- Monitor and define testing procedures for performance, reliability, and safety.
- Analyse testing data and validate results against design objectives.
- Prepare structured technical reports and performance analysis documentation.
- Implement corrective improvements based on test findings.
- Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers for: Development components, Special parts, Tooling & custom materials.
- Ensure supplier quality, specification compliance, and timely delivery.
- Support vendor development and technical clarifications.
- Maintain: Design calculations, Product specifications, Test reports, BOM updates.
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3-6 years of experience in: Electromagnetic clutches & brakes, Industrial mechanical/electromechanical product development.
- Strong knowledge of: Torque, RPM, duty cycle, Heat dissipation concepts, Mechanical design fundamentals.
- Hands-on exposure to prototype testing and validation processes.
- Experience in a manufacturing-based engineering environment.
- Knowledge of CAD tools (AutoCAD / SolidWorks preferred).
- Self-driven and capable of handling end-to-end product development.
- Strong analytical mindset with structured reporting ability.
- Comfortable working in an MSME manufacturing setup.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
