Job Description
Job Title: Sr.Manager/AGM – Fire & Safety
Department: Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
Location: Hisar, Haryana
Company: Jindal Stainless Limited
Experience Required: 10–18 years (preferably in heavy industry/steel manufacturing)
Role Objective
To lead and implement proactive fire prevention, protection, and safety measures across the manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and industry best practices, thereby fostering a culture of safety and emergency readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Fire Safety & Emergency Response:
Plan, implement, and monitor fire safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, hydrants, extinguishers, suppression systems, etc.)Lead emergency preparedness drills including fire mock drills, evacuation plans, and first-aid training.Maintain and upgrade firefighting equipment and systems as per BIS/NFPA standards.Coordinate with local fire authorities and emergency services for compliance and support.
Safety Management & Compliance
Ensure adherence to all fire & safety-related legal and statutory requirements (Factories Act, NBC, OHSAS/ISO 45001).Develop and update SOPs, safety manuals, and fire safety protocols for all plant operations.Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and fire hazard analyses.Investigate fire incidents/near misses and implement corrective actions.
Training & Awareness
Conduct regular safety training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.Build a safety-first culture by encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives.
Coordination & Reporting
Work closely with plant operations, EHS teams, and facility heads to enforce fire and safety norms.Prepare monthly safety reports, fire inspection logs, and MIS dashboards for top management review.
Key Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
Degree/Diploma in Fire & Safety Engineering from a recognized institutePreferably certified in NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar international safety standards
Experience
10–18 years of relevant experience in industrial fire safety, preferably in steel or heavy manufacturing industriesHands-on knowledge of safety systems implementation and firefighting infrastructure
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of fire protection systems and safety legislationLeadership in crisis and emergency handlingExcellent communication, training, and interpersonal skillsProficient in MS Office and safety management tools
