Republic Media is looking for passionate and dynamic Anchors to join our editorial team. The ideal candidates should have strong on-air presentation skills, sound editorial judgment, and hands-on experience in newsroom operations. Along with anchoring, candidates will be expected to contribute to the News Desk as package writers and show producers.

Key Responsibilities

• Anchor live news bulletins, evening shows, breaking news, debates, and special programming with confidence and accuracy.

• Deliver news in a professional, engaging, and credible manner while maintaining high editorial standards.

• Work on the News Desk as a Package Writer and Show Producer, including script writing, rundown planning, and bulletin preparation.

• Write, edit, and review news scripts, anchor links, headlines, and special show content.

• Coordinate with the Input, Output, PCR, Graphics, Digital, and Production teams to ensure seamless newsroom operations.

• Handle breaking news coverage and make quick editorial decisions during live broadcasts.

• Conduct live interviews with newsmakers, experts, and public representatives.

• Verify facts and ensure editorial accuracy before going on air.

• Stay updated on current affairs, politics, governance, business, sports, and entertainment.

• Contribute story ideas, exclusive content, and special programming initiatives.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's or master's degree in journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.

• 3–8 years of experience in television news as an Anchor, with prior experience in news reporting and newsroom desk operations.

• Strong command over live anchoring, script writing, and news presentation.

• Experience in handling breaking news and high-pressure live broadcasts.

• Excellent editorial judgment and understanding of television news production.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in political reporting and election coverage.

• Strong knowledge of West Bengal politics, administration, and current affairs.

• Ability to multitask across anchoring, reporting, and desk responsibilities.

• Confident on-camera presence with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
