Republic Media is looking for passionate and experienced News Desk Reporters (Input) to join our dynamic newsroom. The ideal candidate should have strong news judgment, excellent sourcing skills, and the ability to identify, verify, and develop impactful stories in a fast-paced television news environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and identify breaking news, developments, and story leads from multiple sources.

• Coordinate with reporters, stringers, bureaus, and field teams for timely news gathering.

• Verify information and ensure the accuracy, credibility, and authenticity of news before publication or telecast.

• Develop exclusive stories through strong networking and source management.

• Work closely with the Assignment, Output, Digital, PCR, and Production teams to ensure smooth news operations.

• Track political, administrative, legal, business, crime, and social developments across West Bengal and India.

• Prepare story briefs, background notes, fact sheets, and research inputs for editorial teams.

• Maintain regular communication with government departments, police officials, political parties, and other key stakeholders.

• Support election coverage, special events, and breaking news operations.

• Ensure adherence to editorial guidelines, ethical journalism, and newsroom standards.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's or master's degree in journalism, Mass Communication, or a related discipline.

• 2–6 years of experience in television news, preferably in an Input Desk or reporting role.

• Strong news sense and understanding of current affairs.

• Excellent communication, coordination, and verification skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a 24×7 newsroom environment.
