Republic Media is looking for a highly connected and experienced Guest Relations Head to lead guest coordination for our news programming. The ideal candidate should have a strong network across politics, government, administration, entertainment, sports, business, academia, and public affairs, with the ability to bring the right voices to our newsroom for live debates, interviews, and special programming. Similar roles in news organizations emphasize building relationships with public figures, coordinating guests, and working closely with editorial teams to ensure timely participation.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the Guest Relations team and manage end-to-end guest coordination for daily news shows, debates, interviews, and special programming.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with politicians, government officials, bureaucrats, spokespersons, celebrities, subject matter experts, social activists, and influencers.
• Coordinate with editorial, input, output, production, and PCR teams to ensure timely guest availability.
• Liaise with PR agencies, media representatives, government offices, and corporate communication teams.
• Ensure daily guest line-ups, backup panels, and last-minute replacements for live programming.
• Brief guests on discussion topics, show formats, timings, and technical requirements.
• Maintain and regularly update a comprehensive guest database across multiple domains.
• Identify new and credible voices relevant to current affairs and breaking news.
• Handle high-pressure situations while ensuring smooth guest management and professional communication.
Eligibility
• Graduation or post-graduation in any discipline.
• Previous experience in Guest Relations, Newsroom Operations, Editorial Coordination, Public Relations, or Media Relations.
• Strong network within the West Bengal media, political, administrative, business, and entertainment ecosystem.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced 24×7 newsroom environment. Mandatory Requirements
• Fluency in Bengali and English is mandatory.
• Prior experience in a television news channel will be preferred.
• Knowledge of current affairs, political developments, and the West Bengal news landscape is essential.
